We believe grips are a big part of the performance story
There’s nothing quite as satisfying as rolling a ball down your line, looking up as it’s tracking to the target, watching it fall right into the hole, and making that sound we all love as it circles the bottom of the cup.
Doing that more often is why we work so hard on our game & go get fit for our putters.
Properly fit putters ensure performance elevates to match the soundness of our stroke and is really the foundation for a repeating action. So, the next time you go thru a putter fitting always ensure first that the grip is a good match for your chosen gripping style and more importantly, that grip must also work within the framework of that fitting recomendation, so it doesn’t limit performance.
The cover was inspired by every player we asked, responded in the heat of battle they wanted the most "feel" they could get to help manage grip pressure.
We believe players should have options
We’ve always believed players are best served when they have options.
HIgh performance can be very personal, so beyond size and shape, a grip’s texture can also play its part in competitive advantage.
External conditions, like cold, rain, humidity, etc. can diminish responsiveness, touch, and feel. To often, other grips texture loses their tackiness quickly, feel slick; which seems to multiply in poor conditions. We created a texture that not only overcomes the elements but gets better with use to keep grip pressures light.
Heading into battle requires your best
Imagine a surface that seems to get better with use. Other grips are considered “high tack” but that initial stickyness fades quickly and the player is left with a grip that can feel worn and unresponsive.
Our Go To War cover is a perforated hex pattern with generous sized channels that feels like no other. It refines over time for just the right amount of texture for that important competitive advantage when you need it most.
Though its a high grade PU leather, it mimicks the feel of a traditional rubber grip which is always appreciated by the game’s best players because of its consistent feedback.
We wanted to make sure the texture was not only long lasting but continued to get better over time to provide that responsiveness, reliability, in any weather conditions and be there when you need it most.
Reminders aid in consistent hand placement
Consistency is a hallmark seen in the greats. We know they’ve always had the ability to do 2 things well;
1. Own the Face 2. Re Align the shaft at impact.
A requirement for doing these well is meticulous hand placement, so our goal was to give the player feedback thru texture and not an intrusive reminder ridge running the length of the underside of the grip.
The zipper reminder provide a subtly raised or embossed surface that accomplishes the job without being overpowering.
Performance on top of Performance
Lastly, speaking of reminders, please don’t forget this player driven cover wraps around the most reliable round grip in the game.
Performance runs inside and out on this beauty and loves any gripping style but thrives when paired with a lead hand low or claw style.
Offset core, forward shaft, ensure the putter is visually connected from the head to the hands in the players sight picture. Controls onset or offset so the player “knows” where impact is on the arc while making it stupid easy to line up the shaft/face at impact.
